Celebrating Chef Zorba's 40th Anniversary

a black and silver phone

Smart Phones, Amazon, Lime Scooters, Red Bull… none of these existed in 1979 when Chef Zorba’s first opened its doors.  To celebrate our 40th Anniversary, we are creating a Community Time Capsule that will be buried in our front garden on May 15, 2019, to be opened, hopefully by future diners in 2059.

Nearly every day we hear stories about Chef Zorba’s that begin “When I was a kid…” or “My grandpa used to bring us every Saturday for…”  We hope to capture the spirit of Chef Zorba’s, the Congress Park community and a snapshot in time for future generations!

We are now accepting submissions to include in the Time Capsule.

Photos, written memories or small items should represent what you love about Chef Zorba’s and Congress Park, local history, or this moment in time for future generations to discover.   Items will be collected now through May 12th.

You can submit either physically at the restaurant or digitally, as a flash drive will be included in the Time Capsule.  Our Time Capsule is a cylinder, approximately 19” by 3” so items made of flexible materials such as paper or plastic will work best. All physical items must be dry and non-perishable and cannot be returned.

Once items are donated, our Time Capsule committee will decide which collectively represent the best variety to be included. Prior to being buried, these items will be on display during our Anniversary Celebration on May 15th.

Please complete a Submission Form with your donation and mark your calendars for the event on May 15th.  Our customers have made Chef Zorba’s what it is today and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with you!
